Bonehead play-call of the week: As always... Detroit (Howie) vs Green Bay was played tough to the end. Early special teams followed by continued runnning success put Green Bay up by 3 TD in the 3rd, but that was all they could manage. In an impressive display, upon Harrington being injured on an overwhelming blitz in the 3rd (2 weeks), Mike McMahn showed no fear and took over. After throwing for a quick TD, they recovered the onsides for yet another one. Down by 7, a defensive stop forces the punt. Again McMahn steps up and throws the game tying TD with 18 seconds on the clock to make it 42-41. In an "interesting" play call if you are not Brian, Detroit goes for two straight up the gullet but is stopped cleanly before converting. Onside kick fails and Packers go on to win it 42-41. In other news, Denver took control of the game from the beginning, and despite an injury to Terell, ran it out to 38-7, stopping the vaunted Bill's (Brian) offense in its tracks. The Bills would score again, but that would be it as the Broncos coasted to a victory. In a hardfought game between 49ers and Washington (Paul) it turned out to be defense that turned the trick. Two interception returns for TD's by the redskin's Bailey broke the 9er's back and despite a late-game effort by the Garcia-Owens connection, it was too little too late as the Redskins went on to win it. For the rest? It was all about the running game... Both the Priest and the Deuce were one-man wrecking crews as they singlehandedly led kansas city (etan) and the Saints to respective dominating victories over the Pats and the Bears (Marc). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------ NFC Player of the Week: Deuce McAllister (Danny) - 17 carries, 143 Yards, 5 TD and 1 catch, 16 yards, 1 TD Champ Bailey (Paul)- 3 tackles, 2 INT for 2 TD AFC Player of the Week: Priest Holmes (etan)- 19 carries, 163 Yds, 2TD and 6 catches, 178 Yds, 2 TD (341/546 total yds!!)
